DEVELOPING
TRAYS |
|
What are the basic things you need? 3 developing trays: $25 in
a photo shop or you can find shallow plastic dishes for under
$3 at K-Mart. Size will depend on the maximum size of your
print. You may find some old ones at home that you can
use. Don't make them multi-purpose as the photo
chemicals are probably toxic. |

RED
LIGHT |
Ortho film does not expose under
red light. The light may be colored red or a regular bulb
could be used encased with a red filter for elimination of the
work area. Suggest low wattage bulb like 60 watt or less.
Panchromatic film exposes to any
color so dark room development must be accomplished in total
darkness. |

| CHEMICALS |
| Developer,
Stop Bath and Fixer. The developer is the chemical that
can't be saved normally. I used depleted fixer for my
stop bath and save both the stop bath and fixer in small
labeled plastic food containers with plastic lids. Metal lids
will corrode with these chemicals. Throw away the developer
after use. Keep in mind that there different developers for
different film. Fix is rather universal. |
