ART
FOR BEGINNER |
| The
major problem for people selecting art for their project is
that they really don't know what they want. They do have a
project in mind but need help on the details. Our
catalog is recommended to review for ideas and done in the
convenience of your own home without running around to stores
and print shops to look at their catalogs. If we don't
have it, perhaps our "Review of Web Rubber Stamps
Sites" may have exactly what you want. |
Other SOLUTION:
Shop the web for
images that fit your need. Save and
manipulate image to your specs or
send to us and we'd be glad to quote.

First you have to know how your computer filing system
works. How to create folders or directories and create files
in those folders or directories. I created a teaching
course for beginners that goes through the basic steps of
windows filing system and the tools that are fundamental to
finding the file you want. 15 minute lessons: The web site is www.didyouseethis.net
click red button "Computer 101" right hand corner. Each page is a
15 minute lesson, test and grade
yourself and go on to the next page. You must learn how
your file system works, file types, how to find, how to save
or create a file, and Copy, Cut and Paste techniques,
The lessons are illustrated and designed to hit the highlights
and give the user the basic tools to go web shopping for art
or transferring patterns, designs for their art
interest. Step by step instructions in some neat arty
things that can be handled with your computer and applied to
your interest. |

| COPYING
PICTURES |
| This
is simple. Put cursor over picture, right click right mouse
and select "Save Picture As". You will receive
prompt that asks which folder or directory you want to save it
under and what the file should be named. Since you know the
filing system, you can then attach the file to an email and
send it to the interested party or open the file and
manipulate the image in a paint program yourself. Keep in mind
this may belong to some one and duplication may not be legal
therefore changes may be necessary to be legal or
permission. It's the idea or look you want to convey
anyway. |

| We
welcome the opportunity to be of service. We are very
reasonable and fast for those who have found what they want
and able to forward the images and specifications . Need

| We hope you
take advantage of looking through our catalog and the review
of other links to find that special piece of art you've been
searching for. |
|
| Our art
catalog images can be emailed for a handling charge of $2.00
for the first image & $1 for each additional image. We do
need to have you answer some art transferring questions to
ensure your satisfaction unless you know exactly what you
want. Our first choice is to transfer a vectorized image
either, wmf or cdr format. Our second choice is a page
size rastorized image that you can size. Our last choice
is to send you sized image to your specifications. If you know
what you want, specify in your order. If computer illiterate,
our questionnaire will determine what programs you have and
step by step instructions on how to use with what you have
without additional charge unless you care to tip me. |

WEB
PICTURES |
| Web
images are normally rastorized images that are either a jpg or gif
file extension. That's a result of efficient memory management
necessary to run the pictures faster for those with slow
modems. |

BIT
MAP vs VECTOR IMAGES |
Rasterized images known as bmp,
jpg, gif, etc. files are associated with pixelating or jaggies. Shading
of the jaggies improves the image that is automatically done
with the anti- aliasing feature of your paint program. Just
remember that your can normally reduce the size of your image
with a satisfactory quality but can not enlarge with
satisfactory results unless you want to view giant pixelating
and loss of definition.
Vector images can be sized
up or down or stretched without loss of smoothness. An
example are your computer fonts which are normally vectorized
in nature with a "ttf" extension. Stands for True
Type Fonts. Note: ttf fonts may contain images as well as
letters if they are line images. That is to say they are black
and white with no shading. Color can be changed and effects
added in your paint program. Windows come with a basic paint
program that is explained with illustrations and step by step
procedures in our lessons: Click

Windows
Meta File |
| Both
Vector and Bit Map images can be saved as "wmf" or
Windows Meta File type and will retain the encoding for each
type that is saved. Beware that opening a
"wmf" in a paint program will automatically
change to a rasterized image. If you save it from a paint program,
the vector encoding will be replaced. Save the paint
project under a different name will preserve the
original. To maintain the vector
encoding you need to import the file to a vector program like
CorelDraw or Illustrator where you can stretch, size, break
apart and manipulate the image as individual parts and combine
other images as part of your design. You can save as a program
file like "cdr" or export it as a "wmf"
file. Most MS programs like "Word" can insert
a wmf image, enlarged in that program, Copied and then pasted
into a paint application that can color and manipulate the
image. Your paint program can reduce the size for a finished
product. |

| COMMON
GROUND |
| It
seems everyone has different programs than you do. The
art of data transfer is finding file types that the other can
use without losing your formatting. Macintosh and
Windows are not compatible. However, you may be able to
transfer the information in a format that the other can use
and open through email or web page. Can't normally do it
with a floppy unless you have a converter program on the
machines that will use the data. For instance
everyone can open a "txt" file via email because
there is very little formatting, just data. MS Word can
open WordPerfect doc but must be edited and saved as a Word
document. Bit Maps are rather universal and normally
opened by any operating system via email or floppy on like
operating systems. Perhaps Microsoft and Macintosh are
exchanging source code to provide the filters to transfer
data. If so, please email your findings so I may pass on. |
